The climate in 2013 was characterized by abundant winter and spring rainfall that have influenced the growth of buds and blooms.
The ripening process began with about 15 days later than the last harvests; delay of 15 days on the maturation confirmed by the maturation curves verified on the vineyard pilot from August 16 until today.
The weather of the last 3 weeks of September was crucial with strong temperature ranges : day + 28/30 ∞ C - Night + 6/8 ∞ C , with stable sunny climate and with 10/12 hours of natural daylight.
All this is implementing the reduction until the cancellation of the vegetative delay and ripening on plants, therefore , we can claim to have reached the technological maturation.
We have started the collection, harvest 2013, for one week, the grapes are healthy and of good quality , with peaks of excellence. The fermentations with Metodo Ganimede have started and are evolving with perfect regularity . All this let us predict to have a good harvest especially if the climate will continue to be stable and sunny.
Regarding the amount it is expected a little increase compared to Harvest 2012; now we have collected 1,350 tons with average sugar content of 19 ∞ Babo on 6,000 tons planned for harvest 2013, 60% of the collected product has reached the maximum assessment "Premium".
